Youth Reclamation Act
Introduce local legislation to dedicate a decade of reclaiming our youth. This initiative is aimed at first reaching parents who must first take the lead in alleviating problems which plaque youth and often lead to their delinquency. Since no amount of community involvement in the lives of youth can replace or override the influence of the home, the Youth Reclamation Act would seek to address the development of youth by working directly with parents and in the home.
Additionally, the act would facilitate actions which are designed to increase opportunities for young people to learn and grow, feel useful and connected, and make successful transition to adulthood. Working with community, faith-based organizations, schools, businesses, civic leaders, etc., this initiative will further collaborate with existing youth organizations to institute a problem-solving model to address youth concerns.
- Identify and analyze the problem
- Develop and implement a plan of action with frequent evaluations to determine the success or lack of success and adjust the plan and actions where necessary to insure greater success
